An exciting opportunity exists for the Nurse Practitioner - Youth Early Psychosis to provide clinical leadership to a dynamic team that is involved in complex clinical assessments and decision making, at an entry point to the Mental Health Service.
The Youth Early Psychosis team provides mental health treatment and interventions to adolescents and young people aged 12-25 years (and their families and carers), who are suspected of experiencing their first episode of psychosis (FEP), and would likely benefit from intensive/specialist, multidisciplinary MHAOD clinical assessment and care.
The Nurse Practitioner Youth Early Psychosis (NP-YEP) is the most senior and expert clinical nurse within their area of practice in the Hospital and Health Service, who will primarily provide direct expert nursing care and will initiate, implement, and monitor relevant interventional therapies and interpret diagnostic pathology as part of the role which also includes the authority to prescribe medications and initiate direct referrals to other healthcare professionals.
