About us:

The Gladstone Emergency Department is a 24-hour public department providing initial treatment for all, definitive care for many and resuscitation and stabilization of emergencies or unwell patients prior to transfer to tertiary centres or admission to Gladstone Hospital. The geographical area it serves extends South, from Mount Larcom to Miriam Vale and West, to Calliope; servicing approximately 62,660 residents. Approximately 35,000 patients are treated annually in the Emergency Department of which 25% are paediatric.

About the role:

A Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife who functions autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and expanded clinical role and uses expanded skills and knowledge in assessment planning and implementation, diagnosis and evaluation of nursing care when required. As the Nurse Practitioner, you will assess and manages recipients of healthcare services using nursing knowledge and skills which may include direct referral of recipients of healthcare services to other healthcare professionals; prescribing medications and ordering and interpreting results of diagnostic investigations.

About you:

Mandatory qualification/s: Current Nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Nurse Practitioner Masters level qualification and NMBA endorsement to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is mandatory.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo the CQHHS Nursing and Midwifery and Health Practitioner Credentialing and Defining Scope of Clinical Practice Sub Committee Nurse requirements for credentialing as a Nurse Practitioner according to the Hospital and Health Service policy.

Total remuneration value of up to $11,853 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $75.27 - $78.59 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
