The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, in partnership with Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health, invites applications for a Clinical Hematologist.┬á Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry has been internationally recognized as among the worldÔÇÖs top 50 medical schools and as one of CanadaÔÇÖs premier health-education institutions.┬á ┬á┬á
Key accountabilities of this position will include, but will not be limited to, performing inpatient and outpatient hematology consultations, and management of a variety of non-malignant hematology problems at participating hospitals. This will include shared rotating inpatient consultations at the University of Alberta Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital and Grey Nuns Hospital. The successful candidate will also participate in ambulatory clinics at Kaye Edmonton Clinic (KEC), including venous thromboembolism, hemoglobinopathies and general hematology.
The successful candidate will be appointed as a member of the Division of Hematology at the University of Alberta, and will be expected to participate in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities of the Division. In addition, there will be opportunities to collaborate with other Divisional members in a variety of clinical and research activities. The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have an MD with certification in Internal Medicine and eligibility for certification in Hematology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
