Description:
The hospitalist group at the Foothills Medical Centre enjoys a team based flexible work environment while acting as the largest admitting service at the site. We pride ourselves in providing excellent patient-centered care through the continuum of hospital care: seeing patients in the ER and following them onto our inpatient units and organizing post-acute care. We are responsible for ordering treatments, tests, and consulting with specialty physicians and primary care physicians where appropriate. Addiction, mental health and social issues frequently complicate the medical issues; advocacy at the patient and system level will be a key part of this role.
We are looking for clinicians who have a strong interest in developing a permanent acute care hospital practice and working collaboratively with all members of the inter-professional team, including other physicians, nurses, and allied health staff. We are a cohesive and diverse group of physicians and are enthusiastic to welcome new members.
There is a position available immediately. A physician filling this position would be assigned work consisting of shifts and rounding patients. While the number of shifts will be irregular, you will enjoy a great deal of flexibility in your work and have the opportunity to cover further shifts or rounding if you so choose. We expect the amount of work available to make up to an anticipated 0.5 - 1.0 FTE. There is an accompanying probationary period with this position.
Time Requirement:
0.5 - 1.0 Clinical FTE is anticipated. This comprises of various shifts in the 24-hour period including evening, night and weekend work. We are looking for individuals who can commit to the full scope practice of daily rounding, shift coverage and cross coverage for other colleagues.
