Covenant Health in partnership with Alberta Health Services invites applications for several Locum General Pediatricians to be based primarily at the Child Health Clinic located at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

The successful applicants will be expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
In collaboration with their colleagues, the successful candidate will deliver inpatient care and consultation services to hospital patients. This position participates in the program’s on-call in-patient schedule (optional) while maintaining a community-based practice. The FTE of the locum is negotiable (0.2 – 0.8 FTE) with a term of up to one year.
Required:
· MD or equivalent.
· Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. (Note: This locum is NOT eligible for sponsorship for Practice Readiness Assessment with the CPSA)
· Certification in Pediatrics with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
· Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety.
· Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) in the healthcare environment.
· Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.
Preferred:
· An interest in community pediatrics or sub-specialty training in areas aligned with community pediatrics activities is preferred.
