Job Description:To be responsible for and effectively lead the scientific work of the diagnostic Histology service comprising Routine Histology, Specimen Reception and Cut up. To assume responsibility for organizing and supervising the functions of specimen reception and Cut Up. To work closely with the clinical lead to ensure the effectiveness of the section.Under their own direction the postholder will supervise the scientific activities of all Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners and Medical Laboratory Assistants within these sections.To manage on a day-to-day basis a high quality and cost-effective diagnostic and monitoring service for clinicians and patients, maintaining full compliance with statutory requirements including ISO 15189:2012 Medical Laboratory Standards and Human Tissue Authority legislation.
