Job Responsibility:The supervisor provides direct supervision of the daily operations of the laboratory section and/or area. The supervisor will oversee and efficiently perform procedures and test as ordered for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. The supervisor will oversee that the maintenance of the analyzers, quality control, collection of specimens, maintaining of supplies in accordance with standards of practice and established policy and procedure. The supervisor will provide recommendations and action plans for the improvement of system processes in their section and/or area.JOB REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is required.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three (3) years of clinical experience preferably in an acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for.MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Management of Anatomic Pathology (Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) required.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Previous supervisory experience preferred.No supervisor experience required but would require lead experience.ASCP or AMT Certification required.MUST have HT CertificateWill NOT consider MLT certificationGeneral CommentsSalary Range: Starting at $ $67,117 and could go as high as mid $90,000s depending on the candidates years of experience.Relocation: up to $4,000 based on mileage and department approvalSOB: up to $7,500
