The Position
As a Haematology Registrar, your primary responsibility will involve overseeing the care of haematology inpatients, outpatients, and consults, with the guidance and support of consultant staff. This role necessitates close collaboration with the cancer center team, including an Advanced Trainee, registrar, Hospital Medical Officer (HMO), intern, medical oncologists, haematologists, haematology nurse coordinator, and medical oncology nurse practitioners. This position offers a hands-on learning experience encompassing both malignant and non-malignant haematology, medical oncology, laboratory haematology, and palliative care. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to actively engage in haematology-specific educational meetings and multidisciplinary discussions.  This position is Part time, fixed term contract from February 2024 - February 2025.

The Facility

With 5000 staff and covering an area a quarter the size of Victoria, the hospital has over 700 beds and was built in 2017.  The facility is a leader in regional health care.

The Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with AHPRA
  •  Experience working as a senior resident medical officer (PGY3+) or medical registrar
  • Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients.
  • Ability to operate in an environment of change.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently (under supervision).
