The director is responsible for the overall effective operation of his/her department(s) to ensure organization goals and objectives are achieved. Participates in providing patient-specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. You will comply with hospital/departmental policies and procedures, i.e., attendance, mandatory education, safety, infection control, etc.You will administer and analyze goals and objectives for work unit(s). Meet organizational goals. Take a proactive view and anticipate change and the need for action.You will prepare a departmental budget, projecting reasonable activity levels and expenses required to achieve the approved net margin for work unit(s). Operate work unit(s) within the approved budget.You will maintain compliance with current regulations/requirements of outside regulatory/accrediting agencies assure that new requirements are identified on a timely basis and coordinate hospital compliance.You will demonstrate an understanding of Process Improvement. Promote the systematic assessment and improvement of performance. Continuously assess and improve the performance of care and services provided by using information available from customers (i.e., patients, staff, physicians, and employees), to improve outcomes.You will demonstrate high ethical standards in business practices. Actively support organizational goals and changes as they occur. Communicate goals in a positive, supportive manner.You will guide, direct, and plan the organization and coordination of the department activities in the areas of responsibility.You will demonstrate effectiveness in the following areas: Selecting employees.Developing staff and preparing employees for career advancement.You will provide continuous employee assessment with timely written evaluations and demonstrate the ability to motivate employees. Initiate progressive disciplinary action/termination when necessary.You will keep turnover at an acceptable level in order to meet hospital turnover goalsYou will actively participate in Hospital and Departmental committees and group meetings with a focus on providing input regarding improving the quality of patient care services in the facility.You will conduct monthly department meetings to keep staff informed. Ensure that there is a complete flow of information through the department.You will comply with the Employee Health and Injury policy/protocol. Comply with all emergency codes, disaster protocols, infection control protocols, and safety protocols. Ensure staff attends required/mandatory in-services and that staff receives continuing education to remain current in their field.You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients and families served in relation to growth and development over the life span to identify their requirements relative to age-specific needs.You must adhere to the company's affirmative action and equal employment opportunity policy in regard to all employment decisions.
