The Section Chief of Forensic Psychiatry provides a leadership role for Forensic Psychiatry Services for Southern Alberta. This includes oversight and strategic direction for legally mandated service areas including the Southern Alberta Forensic Psychiatry Centre, Forensic Assessment Outpatient Service, Forensic Adolescent Program, Provincial Correctional Service Clinics, Correctional Transition Teams, Mental Health Diversion Program, Community Geographic Teams providing services outside of Calgary throughout Southern Alberta and all patients under the authority of the Alberta Review Board. The Section Chief provides leadership and representation at a provincial level and with key stakeholders including the courts, crown prosecutor’s office, defence counsel, provincial correctional services, probation, police services, Alberta Review Board and general psychiatric services.

The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
