About us:

Rockhampton is the principal service centre, for this area with oversight for medical coverage, professional supervision of the Medical Officers and Nurse Practitioners, administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016 and support for accreditation and implementation of programs as well as acute inpatient facilities for the CQ Mental Health teams and the ECT services. 

About the person:

  • Demonstrated competence and skills in psychiatry, able to manage a wide range of presentations including across sub-specialty areas such as intellectual disability and continuing care, in community and hospital settings practicing contemporary evidence-based psychiatry.
  • A commitment to fostering an ethical environment and a demonstrated ethical awareness in performing duties and making decisions.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills to enhance working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications/Mandatory Requirements:

  • MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Psychiatry with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.
  • Credentialing: The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $514,521 p.a. (L27) is comprised of:

  • A salary between $204,206 - $258,910 p.a. (L18 – L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
