About the role

To work with senior specialists to fulfil the obligations of the Workforce Relations Directorate for your client group across Metro North Health.  This includes:

  • Providing Industrial Relations (IR) and Human Resource (HR) advice to clients.
  • Providing authoritative advice and guidance on the management of complex HR cases such as discipline and ill health processes.

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • Provide advice and support in the management of complex cases
  • Operate effectively in a high volume, sensitive and complex work environment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the interpretation, application, and provision of advice on legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures as they apply to the health service or public sector environment.
  • Interpret, apply, and advise on relevant legislation including: the Public Service Act 2008, the Industrial Relations Act 2016, the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2012 Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including the ability to negotiate or communicate on behalf of the agency with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possesses excellent written communication skills, including an ability to prepare professional and accountable documents, such as briefing notes for the Health Minister or senior officers on complex and sensitive issues
