An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Medical Officer to provide high quality care to Lotus Glen Correctional Centre patients. Work in partnership with other Queensland Health agencies and external health providers to maintain a coordinated approach to the management of patients across the continuum. Remuneration value range from $62 989 up to $91 783 p.a. (L13-L27) FT employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), professional development allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., private practice arrangements, plus an Inaccessibility allowance of $20,700 per annum FT or pro rata (category 5) 100% paid after twelve months completion period.

Health workers from interstate or overseas who move to Queensland may be eligible for payments of up to $20,000 pro rata. Health workers from intrastate, interstate or overseas who take a job in regional or remote Queensland will be eligible for up to $70,000 pro rata. Purpose of the Role
Working at the Lotus Glen Correctional Centre within rural health services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, you will contribute as a dynamic Senior Medical Officer with the appropriate qualification of training in the Queensland Opioid Substitution Program.

Your Opportunity

You will provide a high standard of care for Lotus Glen Correction Centre patients, maintaining clinical standards necessary for quality clinical care outcomes, including the transfer of responsibility of clinical care.

  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16):
  • measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • varicella (chicken pox)
  • pertussis (whooping cough)
  • hepatitis B
  • tuberculosis
