An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Moray Speech & Language Therapy Team and we are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Speech & Language Therapist for this key leadership role.  The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of efficient and effective Speech & Language Therapy care across the whole of the Moray sector for all paediatric and adult acquired caseloads. You will work closely with senior management across the whole system to ensure equity over a large and diverse geographical area of both rural and coastal communities. 

The Moray Speech & Language Therapy service includes community services for adults and paediatrics as well as acute inpatient services for adults in Dr Gray’s District General Hospital. The paediatric and adult teams are co-located at Glassgreen Centre and currently consists of a dedicated administration team, Associate Practitioners, Paediatric therapists and Adult acquired therapists (15 WTE Establishment).

The service lead role is vital in identifying where Speech & Language Therapy can:

deliver on key national and local outcomescontribute to major work streams such as self-managementsupport the delivery of optimum patient pathways and experiences.

A clear vision of national AHP work streams is required and a willingness to engage with a range of partners including the third sector. 

The post holder will report to the Moray AHP Sector Lead. They will link with other Speech and Language Therapy Service Leads through a Uni-Profesional Committee, participate in the Speech & Language Therapy work streams across all NHS Grampian sectors and work collaboratively with the other AHP/MDT Professions within Moray.

There are good opportunities for CPD and formal supervision and appraisal processes are fully embedded.  This post holder will provide supervision, support and training to staff and students to allow them to gain appropriate knowledge and skills developing the service for the future.
