An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join our team within the Acute Medicine Unit at Raigmore Hospital. We are looking for a motivated, caring and compassionate nurse who is able to work well under pressure that is already experienced or is looking to gain experience within an acute environment. The Acute Medicine Unit covers an Acute Assessment Unit, Ambulatory Emergency Care and Medical High Dependency Unit.
The Acute Assessment Unit (Ward GA) admits acutely unwell patients direct from the community & Emergency Department. This is a fast paced and interesting environment to work within.
Medical High Dependency delivers Level 2 care. It is an ideal environment to learn critical care skills, such as NIV, inotrope support, monitoring arterial & central lines etc. Successful candidates will be supported to complete CC3N Steps Framework for Adult Critical Care Nurses Competencies.
Posts are available within each area, however rotation throughout the unit can be facilitated if desired.
Successful candidates should be able to work well as part of a large and diverse team, have excellent care values and a good sense of humour. They should also have enthusiasm to work, learn and develop themselves and colleagues. This is an ideal area to gain acute medical and critical care experience and be supported to develop your clinical skills. We help to support staff on career pathways to develop skills which can lead onto a variety of roles including Senior Staff Nurses, Senior Charge Nurses & Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
