About your opportunity

Fixed Term Temporary full-time / 3 months with possible extension not exceeding 6 months

The Injury Management Advisor provides clinical leadership, oversight, and coordination of the Townsville HHS injury management, rehabilitation and recover at work programs.

The purpose of the Injury Management Advisor is to lead the effective development, coordination and delivery of person-centred employee rehabilitation and recover at work programs.

The role is responsible for enabling safe and sustainable rehabilitation and recovery outcomes for work and non-work-related injuries/health conditions to reduce workplace injury costs and return to work timeframes.

Skills and experience:

  • High level clinical knowledge, skills and expertise in application of contemporary injury management and employee rehabilitation/ recovery strategies, and experience implementing and evaluating programs.
  • Working knowledge of work health and safety, rehabilitation and workers' compensation legislative frameworks and the ability to apply in practice to maintain effective injury management and recover at work programs.
  • Ability to communicate and consult effectively within a complex and diverse organisation and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of workers' compensation and rehabilitation metrics and the ability to identify, prioritise and implement improvements to ensure desired system outcomes are achieved.
  • High level knowledge and demonstrated competence in the provision of evidence-based employee health management strategies.

Generous remuneration package value up to $12,731 p.m. comprising:

  • Salary range of $4769.60 to $5132.40 p.f. (HP4)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • Possession of a degree in occupational therapy, physiotherapy or another relevant clincial speciality from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Registration as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or other relevant clinical speciality with the relevant Australian board is required.
  • Whilst not mandarory, possession of a post-graduate qualification in occupational health and safety, health promotion or other area relevant to the role will be highly regarded.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
