The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Clinical Facilitator – Scrub/Scout) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Assist with implementing programs for clinical staff, monitoring their clinical capability and undertake the role of preceptor and mentor
• Maintain an awareness of the unit's educational requirements and ensure available resources are utilised effectively
• Build rapport with patients and effectively prioritise and plan to deliver a flexible and holistic patient service
• Actively participate in the development and achievement of unit goals utilising evidence based practice and innovation

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time
• Base salary ranging from $104 816 - $112 236 per annum

The Gold Coast University Hospital Operating Suite currently runs 17 operating theatres and provides for a broad range of specialties including Cardiac, Neurosurgery, Urology, Plastics, Ear Nose and Throat, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, General Surgery, Maxilla Facial and Paediatric Surgery and a Hybrid operating theatre.
