The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (McGrath Metastatic Breast Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide expert clinical advice and clinical leadership on evidence-based breast care services to nursing staff, allied health and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Facilitate the continuity of patient care, education, treatment scheduling, patient access to information and services, and appropriate patient referral to support services for patients with breast cancer and their carers/families
- Support and coordinate the development and review of policies and procedures for the practice setting relevant to the Specialist Cancer Nursing Team
- Apply processes and systems to improve care including clinical pathways, discharge planning systems, entry criteria, and exit criteria
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (Until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of extension, 45.6 hours)
- Base salary ranging from $64.90 - $70.47 per hour

The Specialist Cancer Nursing Team is tumour streamed and encompasses the entire patient journey from diagnosis through to survivorship or palliation. The team dedicates their efforts at the diagnosis, treatment planning, follow-up, and survivorship stages to improve the patient experience of the cancer journey throughout Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services.
