Role requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Certified as a Lactation Consultant as per the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE)
  • Demonstrated specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding education.
  • Neonatal Life Support Certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Neonatal Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment(PDF) ( https://qheps.health.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0038/475778/thhscli040151.pdf ) procedure.

Employment Term

  • Fixed Term Temporary part-time, 29/04/2024 - 27/04/2025
    (40 hours per fortnight)

Generous remuneration package value up to $68,070 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $52.86 - $56.60 p.h. (NG6-1)
  • Annual leave loading + leave
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Proven ability to promote and support breastfeeding by educating women, families, health professionals and the community about breastfeeding and lactation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.
  • Ability to provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
  • Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Proven ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.
