As a seasoned Manager, you bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, particularly in crafting and implementing cutting-edge organizational development strategies within dynamic, fast-paced settings. With exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities, you excel in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior executives, to navigate complex workforce challenges and drive meaningful workplace enhancements. 

Your opportunity: 

You are a technical expert in the field of organisational and people development. As an advanced practitioner, you lead a small specialist team operating across a large and diverse HHS and within a broader People and Culture directorate. You are highly results focused, bring a natural energy to the role, and operate responsively and with agility to enhance critical capability and bench capacity within a fast-paced business environment. Understanding the criticality of culture to organisational performance, you also actively support line management in creating a vibrant, productive, and accountable culture.

As an advanced practitioner, you use your skills and leadership experience to effectively deploy, integrate, and embed innovative capability development strategies and programs that respond to critical business needs and risks. These stem from the organisation's strategic plans and directions as well as from enabling workforce operational plans.

You are a systems thinker and clearly understand the key development elements and their effective interaction. You plan and act tactically, utilising design thinking and adult learning principles to deploy fit for purpose solutions within the business.  You have advanced consulting, relationship building, and influencing skills including the ability to work effectively across organisational boundaries.

Your role: 

  • Embed design and futuristic thinking approaches within the team's solution capability.
  • Provide high-level technical leadership to the Organisational Development (OD) team and function, designing and delivering contemporary and evidence-based development programs and business solutions that are ‘fit-for purpose'.
  • Develop and maintain strong and productive partnerships with line managers and other People and Culture directorate functions as well as external stakeholders such as Department of Health (DoH), Clinical Excellence QLD, Universities and Vocational Education providers, to ensure Health Service employee development systems and processes (including SARAS investments) are effectively aligned and systemically integrated for goal achievement.
  • Operationally manage the collaborative design, implementation, and evaluation of Health Service
    non-clinical organisational learning programs including the CHHHS leadership and management development programs and the CHHHS Culture Strategy 2020-25.
  • Oversee effective operational management of the annual CHHHS Employee Engagement Survey, including feedback reporting, analysis, and high-level recommendations for organisational action.
