Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and evaluate work of Orthopedic Technician II, intervening and teaching as required. Maintain documentation and report any clinical abnormality / deviation appropriately. Design and coordinate in-service program for Orthopedic Technician II staff.
  • Work with Nurse Managers / Nursing Supervisors, keeping them informed of activities and problems. Practice clinical skills i.e application / removal of immobilization and supported devices within guidelines of the hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain stock levels of supplies in Orthopedic supply areas of Emergency Department, Surgical units and out-patients clinics.
  • Consult with other members of the health care team in obtaining information on patient care, policies and procedures. Delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Establish stock level of all supplies to meet Orthopedic casting needs. Identify and communicate equipment maintenance needs to appropriate department. Contribute in the evaluation of new casting products.
  • Demonstrate effective teaching skills for patient and staff. Demonstrate a calm, caring and efficient manner in stressful situations. Demonstrate appropriate professional conduct in dealing with other departments.
  • Consistently develop supportive relationship with patients/families/co-workers/physicians and other hospital staff. Actively participate in unit activities and committee meetings. Participate in teaching and monitoring of Nursing, Medical and Paramedical students, Interns and Residents.
  • Comply with and participate in Quality Improvement processes and activities.
  • Comply with hospital infection control and safety protocols.
  • Perform other job related duties.

  • Occasional overtime, on-call, weekend, holidays work might be required

 

Work Experience |  NASCDP - Nursing -Allied Health Saudi Career development (Training program) 

Certificate in Orthopedic Technician Training – Essential

Registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties – Essential

English Language |  Level – I – Essential
