About the role

Reporting to the Occupational Therapy Team Leader, this position would suit someone who enjoys working closely with a large team of occupational therapists and collaborating with other allied health and teaching professionals.

Currently, this role mainly involves supporting young children and adolescents but there is also the opportunity to support young adults and adults with a disability if there is interest and experience in this space.

The occupational therapist primary purpose is to provide assessments and implement evidence-based intervention while building supportive therapeutic relationships not only with clients but also with parents, families, and caregivers.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Using a holistic, trauma-informed, client-centred approach when working closely with families, carers, teachers and other health professionals to support clients
  • Providing evidence-based occupational therapy intervention and comprehensive assessments in line with professional and ethical guidelines
  • Providing consultancy support to members of the client’s team
  • Maintaining registration requirements and professional knowledge
  • Contributing to organisation goals

Selection criteria
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Knowledge of, and ability to implement evidence based interventions
  • Ability to carry out intervention with clients across a range of settings (e.g. home, early childhood setting, school, community, clinic)
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, family centred and strength-based approaches to intervention
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Valid New South Wales Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
