Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging Specialist
Veterinary Referral Hospital, Melbourne, Australia

An opportunity for an experienced and passionate Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging Specialist or residency-trained but not yet boarded clinician to join the Veterinary Referral Hospital Team.

VRH is a multi-disciplinary referral hospital and 24/7 Emergency Centre in Melbourne’s South-East. We pride ourselves on being a patient-focused practice and delivering treatment that has the patient’s best interest in mind. We also believe in a team approach to patient care, recognising that optimum patient care often requires the involvement of more than one specialist.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate diagnostic imaging specialist (FANZCVS, ACVR or ECVDI Board-certified) or residency-trained but not yet boarded clinician, to join the Veterinary Referral Hospital Team on a full-time or part-time basis. Not sure if a permanent move to Australia is right for you? We also have a Locum/fixed-term opportunity available from December 2023 onwards with flexibility on timing and duration.

Imaging facilities at VRH include fluoroscopy, 16 slice CT and a 1.5T MRI, with dedicated radiographers. We have a full suite of rigid and flexible endoscopes and perform interventional procedures working together with our surgeons and radiologists. Patient care is enhanced by a 24-hour intensive care unit.

This position involves:

  • Performance and reporting of diagnostic ultrasound examinations and associated procedures
  • Provision of diagnostic imaging advice and interpretation of radiographs to facilitate case management within the hospital
  • Interpretation and reporting of CT studies performed within the hospital when needed
  • Occasional provision of staff continuing education and maintenance of diagnostic imaging protocols
  • Advice on the purchase and upgrading of diagnostic imaging equipment and the ongoing expansion of existing imaging services at VRH
