Return to Work Consultant

StateCover’s purpose is to keep people safe, well and working. We are the Mutual insurer of choice for NSW councils, founded 22 years ago by Members, for Members. We provide 132 local government entities with workers compensation insurance solutions, safety and wellbeing services and are trusted as their workforce risk and wellbeing experts for their 38,000 workers.

The opportunity

This role will see you deliver quality, fee-based and value-add Return to Work consulting products and training services to meet the unique and diverse needs of our Member. This will include (but is not limited to):

  • Serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in offering technical guidance on best practice injury management, return to work, and legislative requirements
  • Providing a consultative service; review of policies and programs, coaching, and onsite support
  • Developing and participating in pro-active strategies designed to promote effective and early return-to-work
  • Supporting training development and delivery
  • Coordinating and participating in relevant committees and networks

These services target improving our Members’ workplace risk profile while sustainably optimising our Members’ return to work outcomes.

  • Tertiary qualifications in allied health or previous return to work or case management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current workers compensation legislation and policy
  • A valid Drivers Licence and the willingness to travel within New South Wales to provide face-to-face support to Members as appropriate.
  • A Certificate IV in Assessment and Training (or willingness to obtain) would be highly regarded, as would previous experience as a training facilitator.

In addition to meeting the essential requirements, our ideal candidate for the role will demonstrate:

  • A strong work ethic and a genuine interest in working with Employers to support return to work outcomes
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Strong communication skills and the natural ability to easily build relationships with others which has seen you influence and deliver results.
