About your opportunity

Clinical Nurse / Permanent part-time / 24 hours p.f.

The Clinical Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care and services to patients under care of the Acute Pain Management Service following surgery, trauma and complications of various medical conditions.

The APMS team consists of Anaesthetic Medical Officers and Clinical Nurses and provide daily reviews of postoperative patients requiring sophisticated analgesic modalities, review of obstetric patients following establishment of epidurals, review of patients following regional blocks, follow up phone reviews of patients, education to patients and staff on analgesic modalities and participation in Acute Pain audits and data collection and collation.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
  • Ability to provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Acute Pain Management services.
  • Demonstrated ability and skills to coordinate emerging pain management needs of clients and optimise pain mangement interventions.

Generous remuneration package value up to $40,558 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $52.86 to $56.60 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6 (Band 1)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
  • On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
