Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9), The University of Manitoba, Department of Pediatrics (business addresses noted below), are inviting applications for a Pediatrician.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to join a team of general pediatricians and adolescent medicine specialists with a strong academic focus who provide clinical service at several sites.

The referral base includes children from the province of Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, and Western Nunavut. Outreach clinics are an important component of the Section’s activities.
The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health is comprised of more than 95 geographical full-time physicians representing all Pediatric Subspecialties, and includes 8 full time PhD Scientists and over 150 other affiliated Faculty and Medical Staff Members. The Department of Pediatrics & Child Health and the Shared Health Child Health Program collaborate closely with the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba to improve the health and care for children in the province. The Section of Social, Northern and Ambulatory Pediatrics is highly regarded for excellence in patient care, and medical education with a focus on care to marginalized populations. Outreach and social pediatrics are integral parts of the program that has a strong reputation for inter-disciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care.


Qualifications :

Candidates must have specialty qualifications in pediatrics in the country of current practice, and must be eligible for specialty registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in pediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred. The applicant will be expected to participate in the educational programs for undergraduate medical students and postgraduate pediatric residents. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is required and a commitment to collaborating with others in research and other scholarly endeavors is strongly encouraged. Evidence of a high standard of professionalism is essential.


Compensation :

Compensation is derived from fee-for-service income.
