PositionSummary
We are seeking a highly motivated and energeticindividual to fill the leadership position of Nurse Practitioner (NP)/NursingSupervisor (NS).
Reporting tothe Clinical Director, and in close collaboration with the Leadership Team,Physicians, Psychiatrists and system partners, the NP/NS will: a)provide direct supervision to a small front-line nursing team and b): leadplanning and implementation of innovative, integrated Nursing and medicallysupported services to increase capacity, access, quality and availability ofspecialized Addiction & Mental HealthTreatment, MH Crisis/WMS and Primary Care.
Summary of Qualifications:
· Is a registered CNO member in good standing in the ExtendedClass, RN(EC), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or candidate to the profession (NPlicense pending)
· Is a registered member in good standing with a Nursingregulatory body in another Canadian jurisdiction in the Extended Class, RN (EC),Nurse Practitioner (NP).
· CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing- preferred
· Two years experience in delivery of primary care andmental health/addictions preferred
· Certificate in Controlled Drugs and Substances:Essential Management and Prescribing Practices preferred
· Certificate/Training in prescribing: OAT/ORT andanti-craving therapies preferred
· Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring, teachingand evaluating front-line staff
· Experience in policy development, program planning andevaluation preferred
· Experience working effectively with diverse communities/marginalizedindividuals who face barriers accessing services and experience in approachingwork from an equity lens
· Demonstrated experience working in a community-basedAddiction & Mental Health setting; emphasis on Opioid/Alcohol Withdrawal Management/HarmReduction, Treatment and Recovery preferred
· Demonstrated excellent problem-solving, organizationaland interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively and respectfullyin a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment
· Current liability protection under NPAO (orindependently) required
· Heightened sensitivity to the needs of people withaddiction and/or mental health challenges and a passion for working with thetarget population
· Excellent clinical skills and sound clinical judgmentcoupled with excellent organizational and communication (written and oral)skills
· Strong interpersonal, leadership, team-building skillsand conflict resolution skills
· Ability to work independently and as a team member
· Proficient in the use of IT systems and computers forword processing, email and data entry (Outlook, Excel, EHR)
· Experience and ease with OTN and providing virtualcare preferred
· Flexibility, tolerance for ambiguity and a good senseof humour are essential for this position
· Ability to effectively communicate in both officiallanguages preferred
· Indigenous cultural competency and ability to incorporate traditional Indigenoushealing approaches, and language preferred
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportationwith appropriate insurance coverage
· Ability and willingness to do some additional work as required by theemployer including alternating on-callduty.
All other factorsbeing equal, preference may be given to the following candidates:
· Persons identifying as Indigenous, First Nation or Métis and have asolid working knowledge traditional healing practices
· Persons who have a working knowledge of Cree, Ojibway, or Oji-Cree languages
· Persons who are fluently bi-lingual in French and English
· Persons who have lived experience with mental health and/or substanceuse disorders and has been enjoying life in the maintenance stage ofuninterrupted recovery for 2 years or more
Wages, Hrs. of Work, Benefits and Other:
Salary : $115,300 to $125,000/yr. H ours of work: 40hrs/week (incl. 1hr. paid meal period). Benefits: Competitive vacation entitlement based on years of service, 12 statutoryholidays/yr., 12 paid floater days/yr., up to 20 paid sick leave days/yr. Comprehensivebenefits package including: extended health care, vision care ,prescription drugs, dental, life insurance, group pension plan, andreimbursement of annual CNO licensing and NPAO membership fees.
Other : Signing/retention bonus ofup to 30K and/or Reimbursement ofrelocation costs if hired before 31 March 2024. Possibility of job sharefor candidates wanting part-time employment. Certain conditions apply.
