About the Role

• Facilitate and encourage access and engagement by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the local community with the CoE CYMHS Team through education, network development, direct assistance, and participation in community consultation mechanisms.
• Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team in the provision of mental health services.
• Advocate, educate and model culturally appropriate ways within the multidisciplinary team to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, their families; and support CoE CYMHS; and to apply Mental Health and Primary Health Care skills aimed at advancing the consumer's health and wellbeing. 
• Undertake regular supervision and training with both professional and operational management to ensure support and to build mental health service delivery competency and skills.
• Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
