Alberta Health Services - North Zone, and the communities of Hinton and Edson are currently looking to recruit a General Internal Medicine Visiting Specialist to work alongside the local physicians and provide services in Internal Medicine. The ideal candidate will visit the community approximately 24 times per year (2-3 days per visit, distributed between both communities).

The successful candidate is required to offer services within the Hinton Healthcare Centre and Edson Healthcare Centre.

This position will require the selected candidate to sign a Visiting Specialist contract rendering their services.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services.
• Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
• Current Alberta Practice Permit to practice in the advertised position (proof of to be included with application).
• Have certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC).
• Re cent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required, as Most Responsible Physician.

Zonal Medical Affairs will calculate payments using a round-trip amount on a monthly basis.For approved outreach service requests AHS will remunerate mileage/car rentals/taxis, meals, flights and accommodation in keeping with the AHS Travel Policy.
