About the role

  • To provide a high standard of administrative support to clinical staff within the Spring Hill Community Mental Health Centre.
  • To provide leave cover, as directed, for all administrative positions by delivering a high level of administrative support across a diverse range of roles including outpatient clinic reception and administrative support to community teams, Team Managers.   Will be required to work across various sites eg: RBWH, Windsor, Nundah, Indooroopilly.

About you

  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills with an ability to respond sensitively and appropriately to consumer needs and an ability to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.   
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications and/or the ability to acquire demonstrated ability of relevant Queensland Health clinical information support systems – eg. HBCIS, ESM, CIMHA, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited supervision, to meet deadlines and established work priorities, as well as an ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a busy clinic environment with often conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and develop an understanding of medical terminology and other administrative and organisational skills to maximise booking utilisation.
  • Sound working knowledge of, or ability to acquire, legislation, guidelines, policy, and procedures associated with the position.
  • Provide a high level of efficiency and effectiveness in the work area exercising judgement and initiative to resolve immediate problems, in situations where precedence has not been established and/or where procedures have not been defined.
  • Work as a committed, flexible, and effective team member with a willingness to assist other staff members, particularly during times of absence.
