The Physiotherapy Department at the Mackay Base Hospital are seeking applications for a Senior Podiatrist to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
To provide a high level of Podiatry services as part of a multidisciplinary team to consumers of the Mackay Base Hospital. This position delivers clinical podiatry services based on current best practice guidelines and evidence, to consumers with chronic disease and ‘high' risk feet including amputations, foot ulcerations, Charcot foot, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral arterial disease, gross foot deformities and other conditions in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
This position reports professionally to the HP5 Podiatrist and reports operationally to the Director of Physiotherapy.
About the Team
The primary aim of the Mackay Base Hospital High Risk Podiatry Clinic is to decrease preventable lower limb amputations, reduce hospital length of stay and improve rehabilitation outcomes in relation to foot and lower limb pathology. The podiatry service provides specialist assessment, treatment and advice for acute presentations, especially in relation to wound care and acute diabetic food complications.
