Principal Pharmacist Mental Health & Learning Disability Services

We welcome applications for an enthusiastic, highly motivated experienced pharmacist to lead our Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Pharmacy Service.

The post holder will be a clinical practitioner as well as a service manager/leader and will contribute to and lead the delivery of patient centred, safe, clinically effective and cost effective pharmaceutical care to Mental Health & Learning Disability Services (MHLDS), including adult mental health, older adult mental health, dementia assessment, forensic psychiatry, learning disabilities, eating disorders, brain injury, rehabilitation, child & adolescent mental health and substance misuse.

In addition they will have a major role in the development and long term planning of the Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Pharmacy Service, including Substance Misuse, in line with local and national strategies as well as strategic involvement in ensuring compliance with local, national, legal and professional issues including risk management and clinical governance.

The successful candidate will work as an integral member of consultant-led multidisciplinary mental health teams, manage and lead the dispensary and clinical pharmacy service based at the Royal Cornhill Hospital and provide professional support to the pharmacist in Child and Adult Mental Health Services and the Mental Health Pharmacist in Dr Gray’s Hospital. In addition they will chair the NHS Grampian Mental Health Operational Medicines Management Group as well as represent mental health pharmacy on national groups.
