Registered Manager Learning Disabilities

Due to internal promotion, our client has an opening for a Registered Manager for their specialist supported living services in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire.

Experience of supporting individuals with complex, challenging behaviours is essential as is experience of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Mental Capacity Act (MCA).

The service supports 5 individuals with very complex needs from ABI, learning disabilities, mental health, autism, and who can present with complex and challenging needs in the form of distress communication.It is therefore essential for anyone coming into the setting to have an excellent understanding of complex care.

Reporting to the Nottinghamshire specialist services Area Manager, you will be responsible for managing a 5 person service (1 single person care home, and 4 supported living bungalows).All of which are supported within their own homes based on one site at Huthwaite.

As the Registered Manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day delivery of a high quality care and support, ensuring statutory, contractual and organisational requirements and standards are met. You will also providethe necessary professional and technical standards required to meet the expectations of the commissioners whilst effectively managing and leading the service

With the support of an excellent Deputy, you will oversee an established and capable staff team of 31 people. The service has very good links with the MDT and family members to achieve the best outcomes for people - this is currently no agency use, which is a great achievement.

One of the homes is registered as a single person care home the other 4 homes are CQC regulated under their supported living registration. The single person care home was inspected last September achieving a good rating in all domains.

Main Responsibilities for Registered Manager will include:

  • Ensure the day to day provision fully complies with the company philosophy, values, policies and procedures whilst also fully complying with local and national legislation, regulations and research.
  • Continually seek out new opportunities for growth and development, whilst protecting and safeguarding the Companys values and culture.
  • Provide clear and structured day to day management and support to the local team in order to ensure the highest quality support is delivered.
  • Lead the team in promoting an environment of collaborative working with other departments and agencies, both across the Company and within the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • Aspire to continually develop as a professional, ensuring skills are updated, keeping abreast of new ideas and sector changes and lead the Company within your area of expertise.
  • Take part in on call with other managers in the region.

What we are looking for in a Registered Manager:

  • Previous management experience within the learning disability / mental health sector
  • Excellent knowledge of CQC
  • A track record of leading and managing teams to support complex individuals using (positive behaviour support approach (PBS).
  • A working understanding of Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Dols
