My client is seeking an experienced Health & Social Head of Therapies to join their amazing team! The main purpose of the role is leadership and management of the therapies team including recruitment, appraisal and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* To lead, motivate and manage the therapy team
* Responsible for the unit's complex caseload (relevant to role) to provide highly specialist treatment programmes to meet individual needs and outcomes. To assess individual service user needs and develop an appropriate therapy programme to meet those needs
* Responsible to ensure practice complies with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and relevant professional standards and ethics, including our Standards of Care
* To implement evidence-based practice, ensuring effective service provision and positive outcomes
* To ensure appropriate provision and maintenance of equipment within available resources
* To share knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching within the therapy team and across the wider centre
* Responsible to continuously develop team knowledge and expand clinical/rehabilitation skills and effectiveness
* To work closely with other areas of the organisation including fundraising, marketing and policy/campaigns by providing information and analysis to support the delivery of the organisational strategy
* Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally take on reasonable additional tasks
* This post normally holds no budgetary responsibility (unless delegated and agreed by line manager) but will be expected to help control and minimise expenditure and costs where appropriate
* Responsible for highlighting risks which impact on patient care, experience or safety and to ensure that risks are managed, mitigated and reported upon
* Accountable to ensure that clinical services meet relevant Care Standards Act, Environmental Standards and Health and Safety requirements
* Acting as a role model within the multi-disciplinary team, demonstrating highly developed knowledge and experience through excellent leadership skills
* To be registered with and to work in accordance with the relevant Code of Professional Conduct at all times providing forward thinking clinical and professional leadership to therapy staff at all levels, ensuring that therapy is delivered to a high standard
Qualifications:
* BSc degree level qualification in either Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
* Management degree or equivalent experience
* Registered with Health and Care Professionals Council
* Post registration training in a relevant speciality
* Current registration with relevant Professional Body
* Member of a Professional Specialist Interest Group or willing to join
