JOB SUMMARY

The Geriatric Health Clinic is a multidisciplinary ambulatory clinic that provides assessment and rehabilitation services to seniors. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient management, including the evaluation of speech and language disorders, dysphagia and voice disorders, as well as the development and implementation of a treatment or rehabilitation program for outpatients aged 65 and over. The work performed focuses on client needs and requires active participation in an interdisciplinary team, identification of service delivery options, workload management and care coordination. The work involves participating in the planning and implementation of departmental program activities and may include quality improvement, performance management, statistic compilation, student training and research activities. The successful candidate shall also carry out all other related duties, as per the needs of the department.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology or an equivalent approved by the New Brunswick Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists;
  • Registered member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists;
  • Experience with adult clients is an asset;
  • Proven ability to organize and manage assigned workload;
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven ability to fulfill their role in a changing work environment;
  • Ability to develop a treatment and therapy plan in consultation with the patient, their family and the team;
  • Strong interest in furthering own knowledge;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network’s management philosophy and organizational values;
