Health & Safety Officer - Construction Contractor - Wicklow

Job Description

Our client is a progressive construction contractor established to deliver quality construction projects on time and within budget. The company has successfully completed a wide range of buildings projects for many of Ireland's top companies & institutions, local authorities and private development companies.

A SHEQ advisor is required for a project based in Bray, Co Wicklow, to oversee the implementation of good health and safety practices on site and ensure quality control standards are met. Providing assistance to the project management team on practical management of the health, safety, quality and environmental systems. Preparing health, safety, quality and environmental documents such as:

  • Method statement
  • Risk assessments
  • Health and safety plans
  • Environmental management plans
  • Quality management plans

Reviewing method statement risk assessments prepared by sub contractors to ensure compliance with legislation and the integrated management system. Completing site inspections and ensuring that non-conformances raised are successfully closed in a timely manner. Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the health, safety, quality and environmental systems to management. Attending the health, safety quality and environmental officer meetings and advising on suitable action plans. Recording and logging health, safety, quality and environmental statistics, as required. Liaising with all departments as required ensuring a good working relationship to achieve the best practices in health, safety, quality and environmental systems.

Requirements

Relevant H&S Qualifications

3+ years’ main contractor experience

Experience of implementing and maintaining good Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality practices on sites. Carrying out weekly inspections on site, preparing and issuing of site audit reports. Ensuring that all SHEQ documentation is updated to reflect current legislation. Experience in commercial, healthcare projects desired. Proficient in MS Office.

Package

€45K-€55K, depending on level of experience and negotiable for the right candidate. Permanent staff role with an excellent career path
