The role 

As a member of the Corporate Services Leadership Team, you will be committed to visioning and championing strategies and improvements to drive enhanced performance across Queensland Health. You will build strong relationships with Deputy Directors-General and other senior and executive stakeholders across Queensland Health to provide quality, trusted advice and services.

You will be responsible for leading the Business Services Branch, supervising a team of approximately 70 staff with 12 direct reports, ensuring alignment with Queensland Public Service values and service quality standards. You will drive transformation initiatives, conceptualizing and implementing frameworks to provide high-quality financial, human resource, and procurement advice. Additionally, fostering a strong customer service culture will be a priority, with a focus on meeting the needs of the Executive Leadership Team and supporting strategic outcomes. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including the Financial Accountability Act 2009 and Queensland Health protocols, through the establishment of governance and management systems will also be a key aspect of the role.

You will have demonstrated:

• Problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing diverse information sources and exercising sound judgment.
• Successful track record in leading and developing multiple teams in high-pressure settings.
• Highly effective interpersonal skills, adept at consulting, negotiating, and influencing senior stakeholders, with strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Expertise in providing strategic and operational advice aligned with modern financial, procurement, and HR standards, even in contentious situations.
