Your Opportunity:
The Indigenous Hospital Liaison Officer role provides direct support and assistance to both health care professionals and to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in-patients, families, and Communities. The position is responsible for the delivery of culturally appropriate health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, including supporting accessible and equitable health outcomes, in the context of meeting individual needs. The role includes facilitating a seamless transition between service providers, on behalf of and in consultation with, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The role provides resources and information that enhances the ability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients to make appropriate health care choices and navigate through the complex health care arena.
