In your new role you will…

• Proven ability to undertake manual work, understand technical information and with demonstrable electrical industry experience.
• Work within a team environment to achieve the goals of a high performing work unit. Follows instructions and adheres to best practice standards. Check actions against standards.
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge or demonstrate the ability to acquire knowledge of Statutory Acts, Regulations and Standards applicable to building services in Queensland.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will be responsible for the delivery of effective client focused Building and Asset Maintenance Services that comply with QH policies, including Building & Infrastructure Policy. To Undertake such electrical work as may be required in construction and maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment within the Cairns & Hinterland Hospital & Health Service District.

About your role:

• Undertake electrical work and carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance to comply with all applicable standards including Workplace Health and Safety, Australian Standards, Electricity Act, Regulations and Code of Practice.
• Assist the Trade Coordinator (Electrical) in carrying out projects and maintenance work, ensure allocated work is carried out promptly and efficiently.
• Instruct Trade Assistants and Apprentices towards the achievement of necessary standards and work practices relevant to the Electrical trade. Ensure that safe work practices and safety procedures are always adopted, and that protective clothing and equipment provided is worn and used as recommended.
