About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate ability to provide professional trade level plumbing services in the day-to-day operation of a large organisation with a substantial asset base.
  • Demonstrate experience in Preventive Plumbing Maintenance/Servicing as well as new installations and emergency break downs.
  • Possess a sound knowledge or have the ability to acquire knowledge of Statutory Acts, Regulations and Standards applicable to building services in Queensland.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will be required to maintain Cairns & Hinterland Hospital & Health Service (CHHHS) assets including but not limited to preventative and corrective maintenance on lines of reticulation, LP gas equipment, hot and cold water pumps and related equipment, potable and non - potable storage tanks, tap-ware and valves, basins/sinks, thermostatic mixing valves, RPZ valves, roofs, stormwater and sewage runoff, bore water installations, central RO and filtration plant, showers, toilet fixtures and fittings, solar hot water installations and pan sanitisers within qualifications held.

About your role:

  • Carry out minor new works as directed by the Line Manager. This may include but not be restricted to running services for new building works and the installation of new equipment supporting fixed services.
  • Carry out water testing as per the CHHHS Water Risk Management Plan, this will include weekly and quarterly testing at Atherton, Mareeba and Herberton facilities.
  • Update changes to plant & equipment data required to keep the QH Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) current for all CHHHS sites.
  • Supervision & training of apprentices.
