The Role
To ensure the proficient and prompt delivery of emergency medical services. The individual will serve as a key clinical leader and educator within the Emergency Department, in accordance with the approved scope of practice and the emergency services capacity of the facility. 

Responsibilities will include
  • Supervise and facilitate the provision of medical services in the Emergency Department.
  • Assist the Nursing Unit Manager and the Director of the Emergency Department in effectively managing the department.
  • Provide leadership and assistance in the planning, organization, coordination, and evaluation of Emergency Department activities.

The Hospital
The facility treats approximately 12,000 acute inpatients and 17,000+ Emergency Department patients a year. It provides specialist surgical, medical, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatric services with some general practice inpatients.
  • There is a 6 bed Critical Care Unit.
  • There is a number of visiting sub-specialty services including Urology, Cardiology, Oncology, Nephrology & Haemodialysis.
  • The Emergency Department facilities include 2 resus bays, 4 cubicles and 2 treatment rooms.
  • The Emergency Department is supported by a range of Junior Medical Officers and Senior Medical Officers and highly skilled nursing staff.
Requirements
  • Eligible for Limited, Provisional or General Registration with AHPRA
  • Experience within Australian Healthcare System (Desirable)
  • Australian Medical Council Part 1 (MCQ) & 2 (Clinical Examination) for IMG's only Desirable)
  • Previous Senior ED or Senior Medicine experience in Australia (Desirable)
