Camooweal Primary Health Care Clinic

The Camooweal township was initially a supply depot for surrounding stations.  It is now an aboriginal settlement and is the last petrol stop for about 300 klms for people travelling into the Northern Territory.

The township is officially part of the city of Mount Isa and local government is administered from Mount Isa.

The indigenous population fluctuates as people migrate from Lake Nash and Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.

Camooweal Primary Health Centre is operated by a Registered Nurse.  This facility provides short term inpatient observation beds, domiciliary nursing services, child health services and emergency services with stabilisation capacity prior to transfer to a referral hospital.

What we are seeking:

  • Demonstrated skill or ability to acquire skill in all aspects of hospital cleaning, to the Queensland Health standards and associated guidelines.
  • Possession of both written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact with all levels of staff, to establish and maintain productive relationships.
  • Commitment to Quality Improvement practices through participation in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems processes and work practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a degree of independence and to work toward achieving pre-set goals.

Requirements:

  • ‘C' class manual Queensland driver's license is mandatory and the ability to participate in Hospital Based Ambulance training.  Training will be provided by the Queensland Ambulance.
  • On-call and after-hours work is a requirement of this position.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role.

Job security. Permanent full-time role, 76 hours per fortnight.

Generous remuneration package value up to $69,332 p.a. comprising:

  • base salary (OO3)
  • annual recreational leave p.a. with 17.5% loading
