The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist – Advanced (Plastics, Vascular, Lymphoedema, Cancer, Haematology) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide advanced clinical expertise and skill in delivering specialised clinical assessments, treatments and evaluations in the area of oncology, radiation, haematology, lymphoedema, vascular and plastics  
  • Provide independent clinical services of a highly-complex and varied nature where principles, procedures, techniques or methods require constant adaptation or modification to address clinical requirements
  • Provide operational management to senior occupational therapists and provide operational co-ordination to other occupational therapy department personnel who work in acute services
  • Monitor, review and report non labour budget expenditure directly to the Director Occupational Therapy

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised tertiary institution
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Drivers Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary full time (up to five months, with possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $5 395.60 - $5 630.00 per fortnight
