The role  
We are seeking a dynamic individual to support the development and implementation of projects addressing rural and remote health issues, specifically for the medical workforce. This role involves comprehensive project management, data mapping, reporting, evaluation and analysis, and coordination of significant planning initiatives. Utilising exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, the incumbent will foster strong client relationships and influence decisions to advance strategic programs effectively. 

Additionally, responsibilities include providing expert advice on health policy and legislation and maintaining awareness of current rural health issues and government initiatives. The successful candidate will uphold Queensland Health's core values while ensuring adherence to service quality standards and occupational health and safety policies.

The successful person
For success in this position, it is essential to possess expertise in rural and remote healthcare service delivery (medical), encompassing knowledge of health status, care requirements, clinical priorities, and workforce dynamics within both Federal and State health frameworks. Demonstrated proficiency in project leadership and management, employing methodologies for change implementation alongside research and evaluation principles, is paramount.

Furthermore, handling substantial workloads under stringent deadlines and competing priorities are necessary. A demonstrated aptitude for conducting thorough research, analysis, and effectively communicating findings via written and verbal means to diverse stakeholders at various levels is also essential.

The role of the Clinical Excellence Queensland (CEQ) is to drive the patient safety, quality improvement and clinical improvement agendas for the Queensland health system. It will achieve this by identifying, monitoring and promoting improvements in the quality of health services delivered by service providers (both Hospital and Health Services and private health facilities, globally and within Queensland), and support and facilitate the dissemination of best-practice clinical standards and processes that achieve better outcomes for patients. The quality improvement agenda is actively supported by a significant research agenda. The Division is also accountable for setting and supporting the direction for mental health, alcohol and other drug services in Queensland, as well monitoring and reporting on performance.
