Position Clinical Director to lead the Anaesthesia and Pain Management Services within the Surgical Division at this major general hospital.
Responsibilities:
Provide medical governance, leadership, and coordination for Anaesthesia and Pain Management Services.
Lead a team of specialists, registrars, and junior medical officers, supporting their education and training.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to support operational, governance, and strategic direction of the Surgical Division.
Ensure delivery of services to the highest professional standards, incorporating contemporary practices and research.
Manage department budget, resources, and service provision effectively and efficiently.
Foster partnerships with internal and external service providers to enhance local service networks.
Oversee registrar training program
Supervise recruitment, professional development, and performance management of medical staff.
Participate in on-call roster.

Hospital The new $77 million 265 bed multi-discipline facility which opened in 2017 providing state-of-the-art facilities for the communities of Australia’s capital city. Servicing over 11,000 people in what is a public/private facility. Currently a level 4 hospital providing acute and sub-acute services. The facility operates a 24hr Emergency Department, inpatient services, general medicine, surgery, maternity, critical care and mental health.
Requirements
Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (RANZCA) or an equivalent higher specialist qualification.
Be available for weekend and after-hours work
