Job Description:Deliver an efficient, high quality, safe service for patients by carrying out advanced radiotherapy techniques and procedures.Communicate compassionately and effectively with patients, carers, relatives and all members of the multidisciplinary team.Actively participate in treatment volumetric verification, according to departmental policies and procedures.Use a range of communication and basic counselling skills to provide information and reassurance to cancer patients and their relatives in circumstances where they may be worried, distressed or confused.Identify treatment side effects, offering reassurance and evidence-based advice and administer and supply medication under Patient Group Direction guidelines.Work within and contribute to keeping up to date the department's accredited Quality System.Develop and share knowledge and experience with other practitioners, student radiographers and other trainees. Be reflective in thinking and outlook.Participation in the rota covering the Satellite Unit.Rotate through the different areas of radiotherapy: pre-treatment and treatment.
