NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. We are looking to recruit dynamic, highly motivated Registered Nurse’s with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in Ward B, Lorn & Islands Rural General Hospital, Oban.
Ward B is an 18 bedded ward comprising of 14 acute general medical beds with a 4 bedded Medical/Surgical High Dependency Unit.
Ward B offers a friendly and supportive learning environment.
You will have robust clinical skills and knowledge in acute medical nursing, experience in high dependency care, cardiology and respiratory nursing is desirable but training will be provided.
Applicants should have evidence of continuous professional development, a commitment to life-long learning and an enthusiastic and innovative approach to service development.
ILS/ALS training is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Lorn & Islands rural General Hospital is a modern, well equipped hospital situated in Oban on the stunning west coast of Scotland.
Ferry links can transport you easily to Mull or the more distant islands.
This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with countless leisure activities, good schools and a strong sense of community.
