GRANDE PRAIRIE REGIONAL HOSPITAL – ANESTHESIOLOGY
The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is seeking an individual to join our group of specialist Anesthesiologists.
The successful candidate must have training and expertise (FRCPC or FRCPC eligible) in the management of Anesthesia including obstetric, dental, and pediatric anesthesia (greater than 1 year of age).
The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is a new "state-of-the-art" 250 bed acute care facility with state-of-the-art equipment; with a busy emergency department, ICU, NICU and specialty services in OB/Gyn, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, urology, palliative care, pediatrics, and psychiatry; hosting10,000 discharges; including radiation therapy services, further increasing the capacity to provide services to the people of Northwestern Alberta and Northeastern British Columbia - Virtual Tour - Grande Prairie Regional Hospital
The Government of Alberta has recently announced funding for a partnership between the University of Alberta & Northwestern Polytechnic to establish the Rural Medical Education Program Training Centre in Grande Prairie.
FRCPC (Fellow, Royal College of Physicians of Canada) designation or FRCPC eligibility, is required.
The Anesthesiologist will have Alberta Health Service hospital privileges. This position will include on-call services.
Duties include but not limited to:
· Reside in and have as his/her primary residence, Grande Prairie.
· Provide hospital and call support as required.
· Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities.
· Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties as assigned.
· Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies.
· Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Anesthesiolgoy.
· Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
· Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
