As an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist in Adult Social Care, you will respond to individuals requiring social care support and employ appropriate interventions. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will also be responsible for managing more complex cases and supervising a small number of staff.

You will use a strength-based approach to promote the independence, interests, and rights of our residents and their families. Across our Adult Social Care service, we strive to deliver a culture of working together, positive risk-taking, and accountability. Our core aim is to support our residents to be influential, active members of our community.

About you

You will need to be a qualified Occupational Therapist and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). A good understanding of relevant Adult Social Care and Housing legislation is also essential.

You will have the opportunity to put this legislation underpinning your practice into action. Further, you’ll enhance your skills in moving and handling risk assessments and intervention, as well as equipment and minor/major adaptations which service users require to live meaningful lives within the community.

You will be able to work independently towards deadlines and manage situations as they change. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of working in social care or a community-focused multi-disciplinary setting.

Skills in prioritisation, caseload management, time management, and multi-disciplinary working are also necessary.

We will provide training for an exceptional candidate who cannot demonstrate all of the above criteria. For an informal discussion please contact [email protected] or [email protected]
