An exciting opportunity has become available for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the Rural Support Team. The role would be to be cover OOH’s in West Highland. A background in Primary care, with a knowledge of acute care is desirable but not essential. Working at a highly advanced level this post offers the opportunity to use your skills in unscheduled and Primary care and work at the top of your licence. The role primarily covers the OOH’s on an on-call and working hours rota but there may also be an opportunity for in hours working in various settings on a rotational basis.
This is a 7 on 7 off rota so it should be noted that this role may require you to be away from home for periods of up to a week and involves travel to various locations in the Highlands.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic candidates who will embrace the challenges of this dynamic and varied role working in remote and rural settings. You must be registered with the NMC/HCPC and be an experienced professional. Ideally candidates should have completed the advanced clinical assessment/history taking module and be a prescriber.
This is a permanent post of 37 hours per week. A full Driving Licence is essential.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
